What does wine color reveal?

Today, various grape varieties are cultivated from which different types of wine are made.

Based on the wine’s color alone, some basic characteristics can be identified, such as age, quality, grape variety, and so on. Wine color varies from light and dark shades of yellow, through golden tones and hues, all the way to the color of red granite and golden-brown tones.

Straw color: Wine with a straw color indicates a fresh, young wine with a light body. It is ideal for consumption within the first two years.

Yellow color: Most white wines fall into this category, characterized by moderate maturity and a medium body.

Golden color: Exceptional maturity of wines with fruity flavors. Since such wines have aged with oak, they have a lower acidity content.

Brown color: Brown tones in wine indicate that it is an older wine. However, it is often a wine produced using dried fruit. Additionally, these can also be dessert wines. It is important to note that white wines lose their brilliance after long storage, which is a clear indicator of oxidation.

Ruby color: Ruby-colored wines are young, light-bodied wines with a lower tannin content.

Red granite color: An intensely dark wine color indicates the wine’s fullness and guarantees a complex aroma and taste. Such a wine has a long aging period, which contributes to the perfection of its flavor.
